Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk 2009



October 24th at Balboa Park
Registration is at 7 AM and the 5K walk begins at 7:45 AM

  2. Sephora sells a brand of lipstick called CARGO Botanical Lipstick. The lipstick is all natural and it has eco-certified packaging. Also, for every lipstick they sell, they will donate $2 to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

  4. On Tuesday, November 24 from 7:00AM - 9:30PM, the Chargers Blood Drive will take place in Mission Valley (full directions sent once you sign up). This is the largest blood drive of the year, and is expected to collect over 2,000 units of blood. You can participate in this event even if you don't want to give blood by working on set-up, admissions booth, food booths, donor draw areas, and appointment check.

  5. October 2-4th is San Diego's Serve-a-thon!
    Each year they focus on one issue, this year's issue will be Poverty in San Diego. This annual event's name has been changed from Hands on San Diego to San Diego's Serve-a-thon, for those of you who have participated in it before.

  6. This weekend, from 9 AM to 5 PM October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th is the Community Mural Project run by the San Diego River Park Foundation. Volunteers are needed to help design a community mural along the San Diego River, and a professional artist will be there to help everyone. You can either work 9 AM to 1 PM or 1 PM to 5 PM.
